A WW1 Western Front Medal Pair, M.I.D., 1935 Jubilee Medal & Special Constabulary Medal Group to 136829 Gnr H. E. Dethridge, XVII Corps, Royal Garison Artillery, who was mentioned in General Haig's dispatch of 7 April 1918
Herbert Edwin Dethridge was born during 1885 at Camberwell, London, and enlisted at Woolwich on 30 November 1916. He was posted to France on 19 March 1917 and served until demobilisation on 4 February 1919.
After the war he settled in Southgate, Middlesex and is listed there upon the 1939-45 census as a member of the 'Reserve of Officers Special Constabulary'. Both prior and post WW1, Dethridge worked as a Printing Ink Manufacturer. Dethridge died at Enfield, Hertfordshire on the 12th of April 1969.
M.I.D. London Gazette 21 January 1919 - the original group citation states:
'...for their services during the period from 16th March, 1918, to 18th September, 1918.'
