A WW2 Medal Pair & Post War T.&.A.V.R. Efficiency Decoration Medal Group awarded to Captain Derek Vaughn Griffiths, Royal Army Ordnance Corps.

Derek Vaughn Griffiths was born on 15th August, 1922, at Yns Mon, Gwynedd, Wales. He moved to Wolverton, Buckinghamshire at some point, and is listed in the 1939 Census as working as a print work clerk.

During WW2 he served with the Army Ordnance Corps on the Home Front as 22558171 W.O II Griffiths, and was later commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant (461868) into the Territorial Army Volunteer Reserve, Royal Army Ordnance Corps on the 18th June 1959. At some point he transferred to the Royal Artillery, and was promoted Captain on the 1st April 1969, and he was then awarded the Efficiency Decoration T.&.A.V.R. on the 3rd June 1969.

The medals are mounted for display, sold with copied research, original named O.H.M.S WW2 medal box, original Royal Mint case of issue for the Efficiency Decoration and postage box, and named army letter confirming the Efficiency Decoration award, and are as follows -

1939/45 Defence & War Medals, E.R.II Efficiency Decoration, T&AVR bar, reverse date 1969, all unnamed as issued.
