A WW1 Medal Pair awarded to 22208 Pte John Laws, 7th & 11th Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment.

John Laws served on the Western Front with the 7th and then 11th Battalions, the East Yorkshire Regiment. During 1916 the 7th Battalion fought at the Battles of Albert & Delville Wood, 1917 - 1st and 2nd Battles of Scarpe, the capture of Reux, and the 1st and 2nd Battles of Passchendaele, 1918 - The Battles of St.Quentin, Bapaume, Amiens, Albert, Havrincourt, Epehy, Cambrai, persuit and Battle of the Selle, and the Battle of Sambre.

During 1916 the 11th Battalion fought at the Battles of Albert and Ancre, 1917 - Operations on Ancre, 3rd Battle of Scarpe, capture of Oppy Wood, 1918 - the Battles of St.Quentin, Bapaume, Arras, Estaires, Hazebrouck, the defence of Nieppe Forest, the attack on La Becque, the capture of Vieux Berquib, Ypres, and the action of Tieghem

The medal pair are mounted loosely on their original ribbons, sold with copy MIC & Medal Roll, original named box and envelope of issue, and are as follows -
