A WW1 Royal Marine Light Infantry & Royal Fleet Reserve Medal Group to PO 11560 Pte A.Cox, R.M.L.I., later R.F.R. (1557)
A WW1 Royal Marine Light Infantry & Royal Fleet Reserve Medal Group awarded to PO 11560 Pte A.Cox, R.M.L.I., later R.F.R.
Alfred Cox was born on the 21st November 1881, at Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. Prior to enlisting as a Private with the Royal Marine Light Infantry on the 17th June 1901, he was employed as an engine cleaner.
Alfred served aboard a variety of ships and land divisions, seeing a lot of service pre, during, and post WW1 with the R.M.L.I and R.F.R.
The medals are mounted as worn (probably the most well worn, distressed, and original medal ribbons I have ever seen for a WW1 group!), sold with copy service records, and are as follows -
1914/15 Star, PO. 11560. PTE. A. COX. R.M.L.I.; British War & Victory Medals, PO. 11560. L. CPL. A. COX. R.M.L.I.; G.V Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, PO. 115/60 B.863 / A. COX. PTE. R.F.R.
Condition, heavy edge knocks in several places, BWM & LS&GC medal heavily toned, thus good fine
