A WW2 North Africa & Italy Campaigns, Post War E.R.II Imperial Service Medal Group awarded to David Henry Thornton, Royal Corps of Signals & General Post Office.
David Henry Thornton was from Yorkshire (Beverley & Hull) and worked for the General Post Office as an Overseer in Hull. During WW2, he served with the Royal Corps of Signals in North Africa and Italy.
Post War, he returned to the General Post Office where he was awarded the Imperial Service Medal in recognition of his service to the G.P.O. - London Gazette 25th November 1983 refers.
The medals are mounted for display, sold with copies of two London Gazette listings, original named O.H.M.S. medal box and slip, a one line telex, Imperial Service Medal case of issue, and are as follows -

Condition, nearly extremely fine
It would appear that the group is missing a clasp to the Africa Star, or an M.I.D oakleaf.
