James Parker disembarked France with the 93rd Battery, 18th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, on the 27th of August 1914.

The 93rd Battery moved to Mesopotamia in late 1915 and then were back serving in France in August 1917, seeing action during the 3rd Battle of Ypres.

Farrier Staff Sergeant Parker was mentioned in Sir Douglas Haig’s despatches of May 1917 – London Gazette 18 May 1917 refers

Note the M.I.D. incorrectly Gazetted under the name Parks.
