An Officer’s WW2 North Africa & Malaya Campaigns G.S.M.(Malaya) & Efficiency Medal Group to 6009488 C.Sgt, later Major, Henry Joseph Hardwidge, Essex Regiment & Royal Anglian Regiment.
Henry Joseph Hardwidge is noted as being a Colour Sergeant (6009488) and Quartermaster with the Essex Regiment, serving with them during the WW2 North Africa campaigns.
He was commissioned from the rank of W.O.1, to Lieutenant (338832) in the Essex Regiment on the 10th December 1944, London Gazette 12th December 1944 refers. He went on to serve with the Essex Regiment during the Malayan Emergency, and with the amalgamation of the Essex Regiment, he served as a Major with the 3rd Battalion East Anglia Regiment as part of Head Quarters, Land Forces, Hong Kong.
