A WW1 Royal Navy L.S.&.G.C. 'Gallipoli Landings' Medal Group to 227864 Able Seaman Wilfred George Luckett.

Wilfred George Luckett was born at Preston, Lancashire on 21 September 1887 and enlisted into the Royal Navy on 21 September 1905. With the outbreak of the Great War he served on Talbot from 1 July 1914 - 13 November 1917 before serving on Vivid I from 14 November 1917 - 16 January 1918 and then Defiance between 17 January 1918 - 16 May 1918.

During the 1st World War H.M.S. Talbot was assigned to Cruiser Force G and the 12 Cruiser Squadron operating in the English Channel. In September 1914 she captured a German merchant ship. On 27 March 1915 she arrived at the island of Tenedos for the Dardanelles and participated in the Battle of Gallipoli. Talbot was initially attached to the 1st Battle Squadron of the fleet and supported the landings at the tip of the Peninsula. On 26 April she supported the battleship H.M.S. Golliath during attempts to support the landing on "Y Beach". In June she was the Senior Naval Officers' ship at Gaba Tepe, and during the Suvla landings she was the flagship of the 3rd Squadron. She remained at Gallipoli throughout the campaign, and covered the evacuation of Anzac beach in December 1915 and of Helles in January 1916.

In May 1916 Talbot was operating off the East African coast as part of the Cape Command. In January 1917 she was at Kiswere (Tanzania), when the second period of German commerce raids began and in 1918 she was off the Cape of Good Hope.

Luckett then served on London between 17 May 1918 - 8 September 1918 before returning to Vivid I serving between 9 September 1918 - 17 February 1919. He was awarded his L.S. & G.C. on 31 December 1920 and was discharged from the Royal Navy on 20 September 1927.

The medals are mounted as worn (mounting pin on the reverse is missing), sold with some copied research, and are as follows -
